The HarmonyOS version of WeChat has entered a new testing phase with the release of version 8.0.23.16. Users can access the update via the Huawei App Gallery, provided they have received an invitation via SMS.
The testing period for this build is scheduled from October 26, 2026, to November 25, 2026. While the official changelog mentions only general bug fixes, users have identified several functional updates.
Key changes include support for system font weight in Flutter-based pages like Moments and Emoji Management. The ringtone selection interface now features a dedicated settings entry for personalized content recommendations.
The update introduces a floating window for the Xiao Wei assistant in the Listen section, offering context-aware prompts. Additionally, users can now long-press to copy contact details, including nicknames, remarks, and region information.
Further improvements include the ability to unfollow or delete articles directly from the service account feed via a long-press action. The interface for viewing images and videos within chats has also received a visual update.
