Volvo Cars has announced its most extensive product expansion in its 99-year history, planning to launch 13 new models by the end of 2030. The strategy includes seven vehicles for Western markets and six models specifically for the Chinese market.

The company aims to double its market share by expanding its pure electric vehicle portfolio and introducing third-generation hybrid cars. This initiative is designed to support long-term growth and achieve an EBIT margin exceeding 8 percent.

The automaker will leverage the HuginCore computing platform alongside SPA2 and SPA3 architectures for its Western-market vehicles. This approach is expected to reduce investment requirements for technology stacks and manufacturing processes.

Volvo is deepening its collaboration with Geely to develop competitive electric vehicles for China. The partnership focuses on sharing platforms, technical architectures, and supply chains to optimize development costs.

The company is also transitioning to a new business model characterized by transparent pricing and simplified discount structures. Future vehicles will feature regular OTA software updates and streamlined after-sales service processes.
