Volkswagen has unveiled the ID. Tiguan, an all-electric SUV designed to replace the current ID.4 and ID.5 models. The vehicle will launch in Germany and select European markets on October 13, with a starting price of €42 695. A broader rollout, including North America, is scheduled for early 2027.
The new model features the Pure Positive design language, adopting a traditional boxy SUV profile. Inside, the cabin includes a 10-inch Digital Cockpit, a 15-inch center display, and an optional 12-inch passenger screen. Volkswagen has reintroduced physical buttons on the steering wheel and below the center display.
The ID. Tiguan offers two battery options: 58 kWh and 77 kWh. The vehicle provides a WLTP range of up to 372 miles. Performance configurations include up to 295 hp, with a maximum towing capacity of 4 400 lbs for the 77 kWh version. The car will be available in Trend, Life, Style, and R-Line trims.
The ID.4 and ID.5, which the new model replaces, have been central to the company's electric lineup since 2021, with over 950 000 units sold. Volkswagen expects the new model to exceed the range performance of the outgoing ID.4, which currently offers up to 291 miles under EPA estimates.
