Volkswagen is expanding its electric vehicle lineup with the upcoming ID. Tiguan. This new electric SUV is set to join the company's existing ID. series, following the ID. Polo and ID. Cross models. The vehicle will officially debut in early October, with a market launch scheduled for the beginning of 2027.
The new model will replace the current ID.4 and ID.5 series. Volkswagen plans to sell the all-electric ID. Tiguan alongside the traditional Tiguan, which will continue to be available with combustion and hybrid powertrains. The company currently produces the Tiguan in both internal combustion and plug-in hybrid versions.
The Tiguan brand remains a core asset for the manufacturer, with over 8.3 million units produced to date. Globally, the Tiguan and its sister model, the Tayron, reached over one million deliveries in the past year. Meanwhile, the ID.4 and ID.5 series have recorded more than 950 000 deliveries since 2021.
