Volkswagen Group reports that fully electric vehicles now account for approximately 40 percent of its total order book in Europe. This growth is largely driven by the new Electric Urban Car Family, which includes the VW ID. Polo, ID. Cross 02, Skoda Epiq, and CUPRA Raval, having secured nearly 150,000 orders since launch.
In the European market, the group currently holds a 23.9 percent share of plugin vehicle sales, significantly outpacing BMW Group, which holds 8.7 percent. The company saw a 60 percent increase in BEV order intake in Europe during the third quarter compared to the same period last year, while overall order intake grew by 4 percent.
The group's performance in China shows a 30 percent increase in electrified vehicle deliveries in the third quarter compared to the same quarter of 2025. Despite this, global deliveries for the first nine months of 2026 are approximately 9 percent lower than in the previous year, with US BEV deliveries falling by 78 percent due to the expiration of subsidies.
Martin Sander, a member of the Group’s Extended Executive Committee for Sales, attributed the European growth to high fuel prices and an expanded range of entry-level models. The share of BEVs in the group's European deliveries rose from 18 percent to 20 percent over the first nine months of the year.
