Venice.ai launched the DIEM token on August 20, 2025, on the Base network. The ERC-20 token allows users to stake it within their Venice accounts to receive daily API inference credits. One staked DIEM provides $1 in daily credits, which reset at 00:00 UTC. The minimum stake required to earn credits is 0.1 DIEM.
DIEM is minted by users who stake the platform's foundational VVV token. The current supply of DIEM is approximately 36,500 tokens, with an initial cap of 38,000 that will increase to 40,000. The rate of new minting depends on the volume of VVV staked, while annual inflation for VVV has been reduced to 2 million tokens.
The token is tradable on secondary markets such as the decentralized exchange Aerodrome. This model aims to provide developers with predictable AI budgeting, allowing them to calculate daily inference capacity in advance. However, users remain exposed to market price fluctuations of the DIEM token, which impacts the effective cost of the credits.
The platform's strategy focuses on tokenized intelligence, integrating AI budgets into on-chain economies. Future developments depend on trading liquidity on Aerodrome and the platform's ability to maintain the fixed credit-to-token ratio. Observers are monitoring whether the total supply will reach the 40,000-token limit.
