According to a study by iSeeCars covering 1.5 million vehicles aged one to five years, the average price of used electric vehicles rose by 9.8 percent between September 2025 and September 2026. This growth significantly outpaces the 0.3 percent increase observed for gasoline-powered cars during the same period.
As of September 2026, the average price for a used electric vehicle reached $32 533, surpassing the $31 954 average for gasoline cars. This marks a reversal from September 2025, when used electric models were $2 227 cheaper than their gasoline counterparts.
Used electric vehicles are currently selling faster than other types, spending an average of 41.9 days on dealer lots compared to 54.8 days for gasoline vehicles. The Audi Q4 Sportback E-Tron, Toyota bZ4X, and Lexus RZ 300e are among the fastest-selling models.
Conversely, high-end electric trucks and SUVs, such as the Cadillac Escalade IQ, GMC Sierra EV, and Chevrolet Silverado EV, remain on the market for the longest duration. Tesla models also recorded significant year-over-year price increases, with the Model S rising by 22.5 percent.
