Texas has allocated $226 million to develop 321 new electric vehicle charging stations. This initiative is supported by the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) program.
Arizona has launched its first three federally funded fast-charging stations, with plans to install dozens more across the state. Meanwhile, Colorado has granted over $23 million for 270 new fast-charging points.
In Hawaii, the number of commercial electric vehicle charging sites more than doubled during the first half of 2026. Many of these new installations are part of the NEVI network.
The Sierra Club is now calling on Congress to reauthorize the NEVI program within the upcoming transportation funding legislation to ensure continued expansion of the national charging infrastructure.
