Tesla reported that its Robotaxi service reached nearly 2 million cumulative unsupervised miles by the end of the third quarter of 2026. This data was disclosed in the company's Q3 2026 shareholder update published on October 21.
Austin serves as the primary hub for the service. Tesla deployed over 300 Cybercab vehicles there by October 10, 2026, and extended operating hours from 6 a.m. to midnight. The fleet previously relied on retrofitted Model Y cars.
The company's Vehicle Safety Report, covering the period from January 22 to October 18, 2026, recorded 3.1 million total autonomous miles. Austin accounted for 2,118,015 of these miles. Tesla reported no injuries or incidents during this time.
Unsupervised operations are currently active in six metropolitan areas: Austin, Dallas, Houston, Miami, Orlando, and Tampa. The Bay Area remains under a supervised model. Future expansion plans include Las Vegas and Phoenix.
Beyond ride-hailing, Tesla's software business continues to grow. The company reported 1.74 million active subscriptions for its Full Self-Driving service as of the Q3 2026 update.
