Chinese manufacturer Unitree Robotics has unveiled the H2-X Kung Fu Legend Guardian, a humanoid robot designed for security and emergency response. The company claims the device offers a maximum battery life of approximately 8 hours, though specific technical details, pricing, and release dates remain undisclosed.
In promotional footage, the robot performs martial arts moves, jumps from a height of 4 meters, and lifts a vehicle. It also demonstrates the ability to shield humans from threats and clear obstacles. However, Unitree has not clarified whether these actions were performed autonomously or via remote control and pre-programmed choreography.
Unitree is a major player in the Chinese robotics sector, reporting over 5,000 units shipped in 2025, matching the output of its competitor AgiBot. Despite this production scale, the industry faces challenges in moving beyond exhibition and research environments, prompting the opening of a dedicated embodied AI testing center in Hong Kong.
The sector is currently navigating a complex regulatory landscape. Chinese authorities have reportedly begun scrutinizing IPO plans for robotics firms due to concerns over high valuations and revenue stability. Simultaneously, the United States has moved to restrict the import and sale of certain foreign humanoid and quadruped robots.
