Hefei Unitary Quantum Technology has achieved a new domestic record by passing the Quantum Volume 128 benchmark test with its self-developed ion trap quantum computer. This metric evaluates the overall performance of quantum systems, accounting for qubit count, quality, coherence time, gate fidelity, and connectivity.

During the evaluation, the system executed a seven-layer square quantum circuit across seven qubits. The process involved a series of single-qubit and two-qubit gates, achieving a heavy output probability of 0.707, which exceeds the required threshold for the benchmark.

The hardware demonstrated the capability to reliably run complex circuits consisting of over 500 single-qubit gates and more than 50 two-qubit gates on seven fully connected qubits. This performance confirms the system's achievement of a Quantum Volume of 128.

Unitary Quantum Technology is the first company in China dedicated to the development of QCCD ion trap quantum computers. Earlier this year, the firm set a previous national record by successfully passing the Quantum Volume 32 benchmark test.
