Brooklyn-based robotics startup Ultra has secured $62 million in total funding. The capital includes a $50 million Series A round led by Framework Ventures with participation from Y Combinator, alongside an earlier $12 million seed round led by Y Combinator and Next View.
Founded in 2024, Ultra produces dual-arm stationary robots known as OP1, which perform packing, sorting, and kitting tasks in e-commerce warehouses. The company utilizes a robots-as-a-service model, allowing clients to rent equipment by the month to reduce upfront costs.
The startup has processed over 500 000 orders across the US. At a facility operated by Highline Commerce in Brooklyn, Ultra’s robots manage up to 30% of the fulfillment volume. The hardware is designed for rapid installation, which can be completed in a matter of hours.
Ultra has expanded its partnership with Physical Intelligence, a San Francisco-based AI firm also founded in 2024. Physical Intelligence provides vision-language-action models that serve as the software brains for the robots, enabling autonomous operations.
