Tutor Intelligence has unveiled the second generation of its Cassie and Sonny warehouse robots. These machines operate on the company’s proprietary robot foundation models, including the Ti0 Vision Language Action model with 4.5 billion parameters.
The Cassie robot is a single-arm system designed for heavy lifting and pallet movement, capable of lifting 50 pounds and pulling thousands of pounds. Unlike the first generation, which was stationary, the new Cassie is fully mobile.
Sonny is a dual-armed semi-humanoid robot built for picking small objects and navigating shelves. The company utilizes a facility called Data Factory 1, which houses 100 robots that undergo training through remote tutoring and reinforcement learning.
The company raised $34 million in Series A funding last December. This capital supported the development of the robot classroom, where AI models are refined by processing visual and kinetic telemetry to improve autonomous performance.
