Tuesday Labs, a robotics studio based in New York City, has officially opened reservations for its new household robot, the Voxel Series-1. The company is currently accepting deposits of $200 to secure a spot for the device, with the final retail price expected to reach approximately $20,000. The manufacturer plans to begin shipping the units in 2028.

The Voxel Series-1 features a humanoid design equipped with two articulated arms, each offering seven degrees of freedom. These arms terminate in simple grippers rather than complex, dexterous hands. For navigation and environmental awareness, the robot utilizes a combination of stereo RGB cameras and a wide-field sensor, allowing it to monitor entire rooms.

The robot moves on Z-shaped legs, which are engineered to bend in the opposite direction of human knees. This mechanical configuration enables the device to adjust its height, assisting with tasks near tables, kitchen cabinets, and shelves. The torso houses the primary vision systems, while the display features animated, pixelated eyes positioned near the waist.

Regarding functionality, the Voxel Series-1 is designed for autonomous household chores, such as decluttering, watering plants, and retrieving misplaced items like books or remote controls. The robot is programmed to track the location of objects, allowing users to query the device about where it last observed a specific item. It is not intended for complex tasks like cooking or childcare.
