Apple has officially confirmed that the launch of its HomeView smart display was delayed due to the ongoing development of the AI-powered Siri assistant. The company stated that the device was largely ready years ago, but required the advanced capabilities of the new AI system to function as intended.

Initial reports from November 2024 suggested a release date of March 2025, but the timeline was repeatedly pushed back. The product is now scheduled to reach consumers on November 13, 2026. Apple executives emphasized that the AI-driven Siri is the core component of the device, enabling personalized interactions.

Kaiann Drance, Vice President of Worldwide Product Marketing, noted that the new Siri allows the device to utilize personal context while maintaining privacy standards. This level of personalization was considered essential for a shared home device, making the wait for the updated AI system necessary for the product's final concept.

Lilian Rincon, Vice President of Product Marketing for AI, highlighted that the improved Siri supports natural language processing, making smart home control more intuitive. The current absence of HomeView in the European Union is attributed to the fact that the new AI-powered Siri features are not yet available in that region.
