Former US President Donald Trump has officially established the Super Intelligence Force to maintain American technological leadership. The task force will be led by Jay Clayton, who serves as the Director of National Intelligence, alongside other government officials.
The group includes Federal Trade Commission Chair Andrew Ferguson, Deputy Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering Emil Michael, and Office of Personnel Management Director Scott Kupor as vice chairs. The team is tasked with coordinating federal efforts to advance super intelligence.
The mandate requires the task force to submit a comprehensive report within 120 days. This document must analyze both the risks and development opportunities associated with the technology, while also drafting plans to address potential social threats.
The task force aims to balance regulation to prevent market stagnation while avoiding excessive oversight that could stifle innovation. This initiative follows a recent executive order that officially rebranded artificial intelligence as super intelligence within the administration.
