The Tomsk Region Health Department has completed the migration of its IT infrastructure to the VMmanager virtualization platform developed by ISPsystem, a subsidiary of Astra Group. This transition is part of a broader initiative to replace foreign software with certified domestic solutions, including Astra Linux, RuBackup, and the Tantor database management system.
The department's data center, which supports regional medical information systems, is classified as critical information infrastructure (CII). Consequently, all software must be registered with the Ministry of Digital Development and hold FSTEC certification. The infrastructure is managed by the system integrator Cyberjet, which oversaw the replacement of previous VMware ESXi and Proxmox environments.
The project involved migrating over 150 virtual machines to a new fault-tolerant cluster. The implementation of high-availability clusters allows for the automatic migration of virtual machines during node failures. The system also utilizes a distributed switch for centralized network management across two remote data center sites.
The VMmanager platform was selected for its fourth-class FSTEC security certification and its ability to handle container and hardware virtualization. Following the successful deployment, the department plans to implement a geo-distributed cluster to further enhance disaster recovery capabilities and ensure continuous operation of critical medical services.
