The Central Bank of Russia has officially added the Tokeon platform to its registry of digital depositories. This regulatory milestone enables the company to expand its operations within the Russian financial infrastructure, specifically focusing on digital currencies and digital rights.
Tokeon, which operates as part of the PSB group, will now develop infrastructure for recording and executing transactions involving digital assets. The company plans to leverage this status to build new service offerings tailored for brokers, crypto exchanges, and other professional market participants.
The digital depository framework was established by new regulations that took effect on September 1, 2026. Under these rules, registered entities must comply with specific standards for accounting and transaction processing. Companies have until September 1, 2027, to ensure full legislative compliance.
Igor Egorkin, CEO of Tokeon, stated that the new status allows the firm to move beyond issuing digital rights to managing digital currency accounts. Anna Zakharova, director of the digital depository division, added that the team is currently integrating these functions into existing infrastructure.
