The Browser Company has officially announced the discontinuation of its Arc browser, with all services set to cease on December 22, 2026. The company is shifting its entire focus toward the development of its new AI-powered browser, Dia.

New account creation for Arc is no longer available. Starting November 23, AI features such as Browse for Me in the Arc Search mobile apps will be disabled, and account synchronization will stop. The desktop version will display shutdown notifications to users.

By December 22, 2026, the Arc browser will stop functioning on macOS and Windows, and the Android version of Arc Search will be removed from the Google Play Store. Personal data associated with accounts will be deleted within 30 days after the shutdown.

The company is reallocating all resources, including core engineering and security teams, to the Dia project. Dia is built from the ground up to prioritize AI features, such as web Q&A, writing assistance, and personalized briefings, with claims of improved security and speed.

Users can migrate their bookmarks, history, extensions, and organizational features like Spaces and Tab Groups to Dia. The company stated that most core features will remain free, and users can choose whether to enable specific AI capabilities.
