Tesla has announced the Cybercab Japan Tour, a series of offline exhibitions for its autonomous vehicle model. The tour will feature four locations across Japan, starting on September 11, 2024, in Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka.
The Tokyo Aoyama event at OMAKASE Aoyama Garden by GMO is scheduled for September 11–14. Following this, the tour moves to the Tesla Grand Front Osaka showroom from September 17–20, and the Tesla Nagoya Noritake showroom. The final stop is the Tesla Shinjuku showroom, running from September 26–28.
The Cybercab was first introduced as a concept in October 2024 at the We, Robot event. The first production unit rolled off the line at the Texas Gigafactory in February 2026, with full-scale production beginning in April 2026. The development cycle from concept to mass production spanned approximately 18 months.
The vehicle utilizes an unboxed manufacturing process, which involves parallel production of sub-assemblies followed by final assembly. This method is designed to improve production efficiency and optimize manufacturing costs. Additionally, Tesla plans to debut the vehicle in Beijing and Shanghai this month.
