Tesla showcased the next-generation Roadster at a presentation held at a SpaceX rocket testing facility near Waco, Texas. The event demonstrated the vehicle's capabilities, including a unique flight-like feature that utilizes rocket technology.

During the demonstration, the car navigated a ramp while inverted, held by an adsorption system. Thrusters and fans located at the rear of the two-seater vehicle helped stabilize the car during the maneuver, allowing it to land smoothly.

The new Roadster features a steer-by-wire system and an active rear wing that adjusts automatically based on driving conditions. Tesla claims the vehicle can accelerate from zero to 60 miles per hour in less than one second, with reports citing a time of 0.81 seconds.

While the initial 2017 announcement promised a range of 620 miles and a 1.9-second acceleration time, the updated model focuses on these new performance metrics. Tesla confirmed that mass production of the vehicle is scheduled to begin in 2028.
