Tesla reported 486,532 vehicle deliveries for the third quarter of 2026, marking a 2.1% decline compared to the record 497,099 units delivered in the same period last year. Despite the year-over-year drop, the company exceeded the consensus estimate of 461,974 deliveries by approximately 25,000 units.
Production for the quarter totaled 464,391 vehicles, meaning Tesla delivered 22,141 more units than it manufactured. This reduction in inventory follows a similar trend from the second quarter, effectively clearing the surplus of roughly 50,000 vehicles accumulated during the first quarter of 2026.
Model 3 and Model Y accounted for 478,237 deliveries, while other models, including Cybertruck, Semi, Model S, and Model X, contributed 8,295 units. The latter figure represents a 48% decrease from the 15,933 units delivered in the same category during the third quarter of 2025.
Year-to-date, Tesla has delivered 1,324,681 vehicles, representing an 8.8% increase over the 1,217,902 units delivered during the first three quarters of 2025. Additionally, the company deployed 13.7 GWh of energy storage products in the third quarter, up 9.6% from the 12.5 GWh deployed a year ago.
