Target is integrating artificial intelligence into its mobile application to streamline the shopping experience. The company introduced Photo Search in August, allowing users to find products by uploading images instead of using text descriptions.
In June, the retailer launched Review Insights. This tool uses AI to categorize customer feedback into specific themes, such as comfort or fit, helping shoppers make decisions without reading through individual reviews.
The Buy Again feature, released last year, suggests frequently purchased items and relevant deals based on past behavior. Additionally, the Continue Shopping tool, which debuted last fall, reconnects users with recently viewed products and alternatives.
According to the company, these AI-driven features are increasing conversion rates, boosting add-to-cart activity, and driving year-over-year growth in purchases. Major retailers report that such tools contribute to larger order sizes.
