German software developer SUSE has launched a voluntary separation program for experienced employees. The initiative offers staff the option to resign or take early retirement as part of a strategic business restructuring.
The program was announced following an online staff meeting broadcast from Singapore. According to reports, the company is specifically reaching out to veterans who have been with the organization for over 10 years.
SUSE stated that participation is voluntary and no specific targets have been set. The company maintains that its workforce remains a key competitive advantage, citing internal retention metrics.
The move follows recent organizational changes, including the formation of a labor union at the company's Prague office in 2026. The union operates under the ICT Union, which represents IT workers in the Czech Republic.
