SuperPanther, a Chinese manufacturer of electric trucks, has appointed Dr. Holger Scherr as its new Executive Vice President for Europe. He joins the company from Daimler Truck, where he spent over 20 years, most recently serving as a member of the Executive Committee of Mercedes-Benz Trucks and CEO of the Beijing Foton Daimler Automotive joint venture.
In his new role, Scherr will work with Dr. Michael Ruf to oversee the expansion of European operations. His background includes leadership in vehicle development programs such as the Actros and Zetros, as well as experience in global logistics and supply chain management. His tenure at Daimler concluded in April 2026.
SuperPanther is currently scaling from pilot projects to series production. The company, founded four years ago, began series production of its eTopas 600 model at Steyr Automotive in Austria in July 2026. Deliveries to customers, including DHL Freight, Hugelshofer, and Gartner, are already underway.
The company aims to deliver approximately 100 vehicles to European clients by the end of 2026, with a target of 1,000 units by the end of 2027. To support this growth, SuperPanther maintains two spare parts warehouses in the EU and partners with Alltrucks for maintenance services.
