Switch Mobility has delivered the first six electric buses to the Indian operator Prasanna Purple Mobility Solutions. This shipment is part of a larger order for 50 EiV12 intercity coaches, which was officially announced in August. The new vehicles are currently operating on a route between Nagpur and Chandrapur, covering a distance of approximately 150 kilometres.

The EiV12 model is a 12-metre bus designed to carry up to 45 passengers. It features pushback seats, air suspension, and dual-gun fast-charging capabilities. According to the manufacturer, the coach offers a range of 350 kilometres on a single charge. This deployment marks the third route for the operator using Switch Mobility technology, following previous launches on the Mumbai-Pune and Dombivli-Pune lines.

Prasanna Purple Mobility Solutions currently manages a fleet of over 1,000 buses, including more than 84 electric intercity units. The company aims to grow its electric fleet to 300 vehicles within the next two years. Director Saurabh Patwadhan noted that their electric fleet has already surpassed one million kilometres, demonstrating a lower total cost of ownership compared to diesel alternatives.

Switch Mobility reports that it has deployed over 3,000 electric buses globally, which have collectively covered more than 200 million kilometres. In addition to its bus operations, the company has also placed more than 3,000 electric light commercial vehicles into service. The manufacturer continues to focus on expanding its presence in the sustainable transport sector.
