According to a RedStone report, the market capitalization of tokenized real-world assets on the Stellar network exceeded $4.1 billion by the end of the third quarter of 2026. This represents a 36% increase quarter-over-quarter and a 548% rise year-over-year.
Despite the growth in asset volume, only 0.1% of these assets are utilized as collateral within decentralized finance protocols. The total value locked in Stellar DeFi currently ranges between $224 million and $259 million.
Institutional activity drives the majority of the market. Spiko leads with approximately $1.55 billion in tokenized assets, followed by Franklin Templeton’s BENJI ecosystem with $546 million and Ondo with $535 million.
The report identifies asset pricing and market liquidity as primary obstacles to broader DeFi integration. Meanwhile, the network recorded $25.1 billion in stablecoin volume during the third quarter of 2026, marking a 121% quarterly increase.
The Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation intends to connect its tokenization service to Stellar in the first half of 2027. This integration is expected to facilitate the issuance of tokenized US Treasuries and other financial instruments.
