SpaceX has rescheduled the 14th test flight of its Starship spacecraft. The company announced via X that the mission is now tentatively planned for no earlier than September 28. The launch remains subject to final regulatory approval.
The schedule for this mission has shifted multiple times in recent days. SpaceX previously announced a target date of September 22, while the Federal Aviation Administration had earlier issued a notice indicating a potential launch date of September 18 from the Starbase facility in Texas.
During this upcoming flight, SpaceX intends to attempt to place the Starship upper stage into Earth orbit for the first time. Previous test flights have not successfully achieved orbital insertion for the upper stage, making this a significant milestone for the project.
