SpaceX is planning to construct a 52-kilometer natural gas pipeline in Florida to support its Starship operations. The project, managed by the subsidiary Coastal Connect Services, aims to supply the infrastructure needed to produce methane for Raptor engines as launch frequency increases at Cape Canaveral.

The proposed pipeline will feature a diameter of approximately 406 millimeters and connect SpaceX facilities to the existing Florida Gas Transmission network. The company has submitted a request to the Florida Public Service Commission to approve the necessary tariffs for the construction and operation of this infrastructure.

Currently, SpaceX relies on truck deliveries and local pipelines to transport fuel components. The company states that this logistics model is insufficient for the projected scale of Starship operations. A dedicated pipeline is intended to improve safety, efficiency, and supply reliability while reducing dependence on road transport.

In addition to infrastructure development, SpaceX is expanding its internal capabilities by hiring natural gas trading specialists. According to reports, these experts will manage fuel procurement for operations in both Florida and Texas, allowing the company to control both the physical supply chain and market-based fuel acquisition.
