Global funding for space and satellite technology startups has reached a record $20.3 billion this year, with four months remaining in 2026. The United States leads the market, attracting around $12.7 billion, which represents more than 60% of the total global funding. China accounts for just over 20%, while Europe has secured approximately 10%.

The largest individual funding rounds this year include Anduril Industries, which raised $5 billion in a May Series H round. Shanghai-based Yuanxin Satellite (SpaceSail), developing a low-Earth orbit satellite internet constellation, secured $1 billion in August. K2 Space, a California-based developer of high-powered satellites, raised $500 million in a Series D round in July.

The sector has also seen significant public offerings. SpaceX conducted the largest IPO in startup history in June, raising over $80 billion with an initial valuation of nearly $1.8 trillion. York Space Systems went public in January at a valuation exceeding $4 billion, and HawkEye 360, a signals intelligence satellite operator, went public in May.
