The Russian space company SR Space, previously known as a competitor to Starlink, is currently undergoing bankruptcy proceedings. The Federal Tax Service (FNS) initiated the case due to an outstanding debt of 5 ₽ million. As of October 5, 2026, the Moscow Arbitration Court replaced the tax authority with a new creditor, Space Invest, which settled the debt on September 18, 2026.

Space Invest, a company owned by Anzhelika Mansurova, increased its authorized capital from 10,000 ₽ to 8.2 ₽ billion in August 2026. Experts suggest this capital may consist of non-monetary assets like intellectual property or stakes in other entities. The move is viewed as a potential strategy to gain control over the bankruptcy process or to protect founder Oleg Mansurov from subsidiary liability.

SR Space faced significant financial challenges, including high-interest loans from Sberbank at 28.59% per annum. The company, which was sanctioned by the US in June 2024, failed to deliver on its business goals. A court-appointed manager discovered that the company's remaining assets, including office equipment and mock-ups, were valued at only approximately 10 ₽ million.

The company previously attempted a pre-IPO on the Moscow Exchange, aiming to raise funds by offering 10% of its capital for 1.5 ₽ billion. However, between July and October 2024, it secured only 23.47 ₽ million. SR Space also faced legal claims from various creditors, including Sberbank, Alfa-Bank, and local entities, following failed project deliveries and mounting debts.
