Huawei previously introduced the 2.4GHz offline communication feature for its devices, including the Mate 80 and Mate X7 series. This technology allows for connectivity without traditional network coverage, and it is currently available on specific models such as the Pura 80 series, Mate XTs, and several nova devices.

Despite the initial rollout, recent reports suggest that smartphone brands will temporarily halt the integration of offline communication features starting this year. This shift follows inquiries regarding the absence of such capabilities in newer models like the Pura 90 Pro Max.

The regulatory landscape is also evolving, as the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology recently released the 15th Five-Year Plan for the information and communications industry. The document outlines a strategy to promote the application of new technologies, including eSIM and offline communication, through formal filing and orderly development by 2030.
