The Singaporean government has allocated SGD 150 million to launch Marvel-AI, a research platform designed to accelerate the discovery and validation of new materials. Managed by the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), the platform integrates artificial intelligence with robotics. It aims to screen up to 470 unique metal alloys daily for applications in semiconductors, energy, chemicals, and advanced manufacturing.

Marvel-AI operates under the broader Research, Innovation and Enterprise 2030 (RIE2030) plan. This initiative follows the June 2026 launch of the AI-for-Science (AI4S) program, which received a budget of SGD 120 million. Combined, these two projects represent a total commitment of SGD 270 million toward AI-driven scientific research within several months.

During the SWITCH 2026 event held on October 27, 2026, the government also introduced the first cohort of its Champions of AI program. This initiative provides support to 24 Singapore-based companies looking to integrate AI into their operations. The initial group includes major organizations such as DBS, OCBC, and Singapore Airlines.
