Seres has officially notified authorized dealers that starting September 16, the signatory party for cooperation agreements will transition from Huawei Terminal to Seres Automobile. While official statements from Harmony Intelligent Mobility and AITO have promised that existing user benefits will remain unchanged, the announcement has caused concern among current and prospective owners regarding future quality control and after-sales support.
Many customers originally purchased AITO vehicles due to Huawei's technical endorsement and service ecosystem. There is growing anxiety that Huawei might gradually withdraw from operations, which could negatively impact the resale value of AITO models. Some prospective buyers who have already placed orders are now considering cancellations.
In response to these concerns, Seres Group Director and Vice President Kang Bo announced an upgrade to the AITO service system. The company is relaunching its hospitality program under the name AITO Hotel, offering services such as complimentary car washing, windshield washer fluid refills, and quality dining to maintain customer satisfaction.
Industry analysts suggest that the core competitiveness of AITO's flagship models, including the M9 and M8, remains tied to Huawei's intelligent driving and cockpit technologies. As long as Huawei continues to provide these technical solutions, the product value is expected to remain stable.
With Seres assuming full control over product iteration, pricing, and retail operations, the company aims to build its own independent brand assets. This shift allows Seres to manage delivery processes, OTA updates, and service responses directly, potentially reducing the brand's total reliance on Huawei's market influence.
