Sberbank has officially joined the Bank of Russia's registry of digital depositories. This status authorizes the bank to manage digital currencies and digital rights, facilitate asset transfers, and provide clients with access to identifier addresses for asset tracking.
The bank plans to integrate these operations directly into its existing platforms, including Sberbank Online, SberInvestments, and SberBusiness. Users will not need to install separate applications, as all transactions will be conducted through familiar banking interfaces with standard identification and reporting protocols.
Technical readiness for the new service has been confirmed by the bank. The official launch date remains contingent upon the enactment of relevant secondary legislation. Initially, the bank intends to conduct transactions with a limited group of clients to refine the operational processes before a full-scale public rollout.
