SanDisk has entered into a partnership with Meta to develop storage solutions specifically for the Meta Quest series and upcoming Meta VR Glasses. The collaboration will focus on producing microSD Express cards and USB-C flash drives under the Made For Meta branding.

These storage accessories are scheduled to launch in the spring of 2027, coinciding with the release of the new Meta VR Glasses. While the product line is confirmed, SanDisk has not yet disclosed pricing details or the specific storage capacities for these devices.

The new Meta VR Glasses will feature 128GB of internal storage and, for the first time in the Meta VR lineup, a dedicated microSD slot for expansion. This design choice aims to provide users with a more cost-effective way to increase storage capacity.

Meta is also upgrading Horizon OS to improve compatibility with external storage. Recent updates allow users to browse and manage files on external drives directly through the system file application. In the Horizon OS 2.9 public test version, users can now view data usage and manage external storage via system settings.
