Samsung Electronics has signed a partnership agreement with Tencent and Woori Bank to expand the Samsung Wallet Money service for travelers visiting China. This collaboration aims to integrate Samsung Wallet with the WeChat Pay QR code network, allowing South Korean users to make payments at merchants across China that accept WeChat Pay.

The service allows users to generate a payment QR code within the Samsung Wallet app or scan merchant codes directly. It eliminates the need for additional payment registrations for Galaxy smartphone users visiting China. Furthermore, the service does not charge international transaction fees and offers a 0.3% reward in Samsung Wallet points on offline purchases with no cap.

Looking ahead, the three companies plan to enhance their digital payment cooperation. By the first quarter of 2027, they intend to expand the scope of QR code payments in the Chinese market to include credit card support, further increasing the utility of the platform for international users.
