Samsung Wallet now allows eligible U.S. Galaxy users to manage Circle’s USDC on the Solana blockchain directly within the app. The integration enables users to buy, hold, send, and receive the stablecoin without needing a separate crypto application or managing private keys. The feature is compatible with approximately 82 million Galaxy devices across the United States.

The service is developed in partnership with Bastion, which acts as the licensed custodian, and Coinbase, serving as the sub-custodian via Coinbase Prime Vault. Samsung clarifies that these accounts are distinct from traditional bank accounts. Users can transfer USDC to other Samsung Wallet users or external wallets without Samsung-imposed fees, though third-party providers may apply their own charges.

The platform supports international transfers to bank accounts in over 60 countries, with fees determined by the destination. Topping up the wallet via credit card or Samsung Pay incurs a 4% fee, and withdrawals to bank accounts or debit cards also involve costs. New users receive $25 in USDC upon their first top-up of at least $50.

Access to the service requires Android 13 or later, and users must be U.S. residents aged 18 or older, excluding those in New York. Samsung plans to explore future options for online and in-store stablecoin payments and intends to expand the service to additional markets, contingent upon local regulatory requirements.
