MetaMask has integrated limit orders into its mobile application, allowing users to set target prices for token swaps. This functionality enables traders to place buy orders below the current market price or sell orders above it, ensuring assets remain in the user's wallet until the transaction is executed.

The feature utilizes revocable ERC-7702 delegation, which grants conditional permissions rather than requiring users to transfer assets to an exchange. This approach ensures that tokens stay under the user's control until the order is filled, and permissions can be revoked at any time.

Transactions are designed to be gasless for the user, as fees are deducted directly from the tokens being sold. MetaMask charges a service fee only upon the successful fulfillment of an order. The tool is available in version 8.18.0 or later of the mobile app.

First introduced as a swap aggregator in 2020, MetaMask has since expanded its platform to include perpetual trading and rewards programs. With a user base exceeding 100 million as of early 2026, the wallet aims to provide centralized exchange-like trading capabilities within a self-custodial environment.
