Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong visited the company's R&D center in Seoul to inspect the Robot Experience (RX) division. This marks his first visit since the department was established in July to consolidate internal robotics research and commercialization efforts.

The RX division, led by DX head Roh Tae-moon, reports directly to the CEO. Samsung aims to integrate its robotics strategy across semiconductor, smartphone, and home appliance manufacturing. The company is currently testing a bipedal humanoid robot at the Seoul R&D center to evaluate its performance in logistics and manufacturing over 24-hour cycles.

Samsung is preparing to showcase its humanoid robot technologies at CES 2027 in Las Vegas. The planned demonstrations include precision manipulation technologies such as robotic arms and dexterous hands. The company intends to deploy robots in its own factories first to verify reliability before expanding into retail and home environments.

To accelerate its robotics roadmap, Samsung plans to increase R&D investment in the United States, China, and Japan. The company remains open to strategic partnerships, mergers, and acquisitions to bolster its technical capabilities and speed up the commercialization of its robotic solutions.
