S&P Dow Jones Indices has entered into a partnership with the prediction market platform Kalshi. Under this agreement, Kalshi will offer event contracts based on financial benchmarks provided by S&P DJI, with settlements determined by official index values.

The companies are exploring the development of new indexes that utilize Kalshi’s prediction market data. These tools aim to track market expectations regarding economic, political, and sporting outcomes rather than traditional asset performance. No specific timeline for these initiatives has been released.

The move follows similar industry trends, such as the Intercontinental Exchange’s $2 billion commitment to Polymarket in October 2025 and Nasdaq’s recent collaboration with Kalshi on market surveillance technology.

Separately, S&P Global has finalized its acquisition of the blockchain security firm OpenZeppelin. The company, which specializes in smart contract audits and development tools, will function as a distinct business unit under founder Demian Brener.

OpenZeppelin’s security tools have supported over $38 trillion in transferred value, with the team completing more than 900 engagements. S&P Global has also recently introduced a new framework for evaluating the risks associated with crypto lending vaults.
