The Russian RISC-V Alliance has concluded the fourth stage of its DEVBOARDS early access program, which launched on April 14, 2026. The initiative provided developers and academic teams with free development boards based on the K1921VG1T microcontroller, manufactured by NIIET.

The program received over 60 applications from 26 Russian cities, with 39 projects selected to receive hardware. Participants tested the microcontrollers and provided feedback on documentation and testing methodologies while collaborating directly with NIIET representatives.

A total of 31 projects were submitted for final evaluation. Valentin Chernykh from Lobachevsky University won the competition with a research project focused on bare-metal development for the K1921VG1T chip, including an evaluation of the Rust language in a no_std environment.

The submitted projects covered various fields, including human-machine interfaces, programmable logic controllers, and ultrasonic monitoring systems. Educational initiatives accounted for 58.1% of all applications, reflecting strong interest from students and researchers.
