Astra Group and Liman-Tech have signed a cooperation agreement to integrate the Astra Linux Embedded operating system into industrial hardware. The partnership focuses on deploying the software across a range of products, including field controllers and upper-level software platforms.

The collaboration was initiated following the successful demonstration of the Larus industrial controller running on Astra Linux Embedded. The project is conducted under the Open ICS (Industrial Control Systems) working group, established by the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade.

The companies plan to integrate the OS into the Larus controller and the Strix.Gateway device. This initiative aims to provide trusted domestic solutions for industrial automation, specifically targeting the oil and gas, mining, and manufacturing sectors.

The development process relies on open industry standards, including ORSU, IEC 61499, and OPC UA. This approach is intended to reduce vendor lock-in risks for customers and expand the availability of reliable domestic software and hardware for industrial automation.
