The Russian government has reported double-digit efficiency gains following the integration of domestic artificial intelligence models into its operational processes. Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Grigorenko stated that the initiative, which began a year ago, focuses on automating routine tasks to allow staff to prioritize analytical work.

The project utilizes language models developed by Sberbank and Yandex. To date, more than 40 independent AI services have been created, including tools for drafting summaries, checking spelling, and comparing legal documents. The government has also installed dedicated servers within the House of Government to support these operations.

Despite the performance improvements, the government has identified challenges regarding user experience and workforce sentiment. Employees now require proactive, integrated AI tools rather than standalone applications. Additionally, the automation of operational functions has triggered concerns among staff regarding job security and the future role of human workers.

The government continues to refine its AI strategy, shifting from simple digitalization to the implementation of invisible, embedded AI solutions. Previous initiatives included training 450 civil servants in AI-related skills, such as data analysis and the use of tools like Yandex DataLens, to improve decision-making quality and transparency.
