According to a study by Ozon involving 1,500 participants aged 18 to 55, over half of Russians occasionally share personal information with AI. Specifically, 20% of respondents admit they find it easier to confide in AI than in real people, while 31% share minor personal details.
Younger demographics show a higher propensity for such interactions. Among those aged 18–25, 24% are more open with AI, and this figure rises to 26% for the 26–35 age group. In contrast, 44% of all surveyed individuals stated they do not share any personal information with AI systems at all.
The research highlights distinct usage patterns: 25% of Russians use AI to vent or process their thoughts, with this figure reaching 36% among Gen Z compared to 14% for those over 46. Additionally, 29% seek personal advice from AI regarding family, relationships, or life decisions.
Daily engagement with AI services is also significant, with one-third of Russians using them at least once a day, primarily to handle routine tasks and save time.
