Russia has officially launched 5G services, with the B2B sector expected to drive market growth. Beeline Business forecasts the total 5G market value in Russia to reach 35 ₽–45 billion by 2027. Of this amount, 20 ₽–30 billion represents mandatory operator investments, while commercial demand is estimated at 13 ₽–16 billion.
Corporate clients are projected to account for over 80% of commercial revenue. Mining and metallurgical companies are expected to generate approximately 40% of demand, while the oil and gas sector will contribute 20–25%. Key industrial use cases, such as autonomous dump trucks and digital monitoring, show an estimated payback period of 2–3 years.
Regulators have allocated frequencies in the 4.6–4.9 GHz range, enabling technological neutrality. Beeline Business estimates that up to 85% of corporate projects in 2027 will utilize software updates for existing equipment to deploy 5G. Domestic vendors, including YADRO, Irteya, Telcor, Iskra Technologies, and Protei, are scaling up production.
The industry aims to produce 2,000–3,000 base stations annually by 2029, with a target of over 60,000 stations installed nationwide by 2035. Additionally, the public sector is expected to generate 1 ₽ billion in demand for smart city and transport solutions by 2027, with the potential for this figure to double with additional budget funding.
