NPP Etalon, a subsidiary of RT-Techpriemka, has developed an explosion-proof temperature sensor designed for methanol production reactors. The device was created in response to a request from a major Russian methanol manufacturer seeking to replace foreign equipment.

The sensor is a thermoelectric converter made of rhodium and platinum. It operates in a temperature range from 0 to +1450 degrees Celsius at pressures up to 34 kgf/cm2. The design accounts for exposure to hydrogen, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, nitrogen, and methane.

The product has completed testing, received explosion-proof certification, and is registered in the State Register of Measuring Instruments of Russia. It is currently in operation at the customer's industrial facility.

The domestic sensor offers technical characteristics comparable to its foreign counterparts while being 1.5 times cheaper. This implementation allows the manufacturer to reduce costs associated with equipping production lines with metrological instrumentation.
