The new scientific and technological cluster, located at the Special Scientific Research Institute of Instrumentation (SNIIP), has launched serial production of ionizing radiation detectors. The facility is part of the Rosatom state corporation and aims to support the development of domestic high-precision measuring equipment.
The cluster will produce two types of sensors: polymer scintillation detectors for real-time radiation monitoring and thermoluminescent detectors for cumulative individual dosimetry. These components are essential for next-generation dosimeters, industrial control systems, and medical research equipment.
The project is part of the 'Radium' initiative, supported by the Industrial Development Fund. To establish the facility, the institute acquired 18 units of industrial and laboratory equipment to streamline the transition from research to mass production.
The site has a projected annual capacity of up to 1,500 detectors and 10,000 unified electronic components. This production line is designed to reduce reliance on imported technologies and provide high-sensitivity sensors for the nuclear industry, space research, and scientific laboratories.
