According to the annual EV Index from Here Technologies and SBD Automotive, over 50% of surveyed drivers are now considering purchasing electric vehicles. The primary driver for this shift in consumer sentiment is the increase in gasoline prices.

Despite the elimination of the $7,500 federal tax credit for electric vehicle purchases, consumer interest continues to rise. The current administration has also reduced federal fuel efficiency and carbon emission standards for automakers.

Concerns regarding charging infrastructure are declining among consumers. In the 2025 survey, 28% of respondents believed there were sufficient charging stations, while in the current year, this figure increased to 47%.

Among existing electric vehicle owners, approximately 85% report satisfaction with the availability of charging infrastructure. Increased vehicle range and the expansion of charging networks contribute to the growing adoption of electric transport.
