Founded in 2022 by Trent Dingman and Michael Feng, the Greenville-based startup Real Motors is developing its first vehicle, the electric motorcycle Project: ARES. The company has appointed former LiveWire CTO Vance Strader to lead the transition of the prototype into a production model.

Real Motors is planning a limited production run of 250 units for the ARES Lot 01 model, priced at $20,000 each. The company is currently accepting fully refundable reservations with a deposit of $500. Deliveries in North America are targeted for early 2027.

The ARES Lot 01 features a 65-kW permanent-magnet synchronous motor and a 13.4-kWh nickel-cobalt-manganese battery. The motorcycle has a claimed top speed of 110 mph and an estimated weight of 474 pounds.

The startup is developing a manufacturing approach called Manufacto, which integrates AI, robotics, and additive manufacturing. The company is seeking additional investment as it approaches 2027 to support production efforts and its broader manufacturing goals.
